Report: Pens waive Recchi

Mark Recchi may no longer be a member of the Penguins.

TSN Canada has reported today that the Penguins placed the 39-year-old right wing on waivers, all but officially ending his career in Pittsburgh after three stints with the team. His possible release comes less than 18 hours after the team recognized his 500th career goal with a bobblehead promotional giveaway for fans attending the team's 3-1 victory over Phoenix on Monday.

Recchi is among the top scorers in Penguins history with 154 goals and 385 points in three stints with the Penguins, but has only two goals and eight points this season and has been a healthy scratch in seven of the last eight games.

In 1,357 games with the Penguins, Montreal, Philadelphia and Carolina, he has 510 goals, 831 assists and 1,341 points.
